Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data we collect through wrightadvisory.co.uk, why we collect it, where it lives and what your rights are. We have kept it in plain English on purpose.

Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is Wright Operations Ltd, trading as Wright Advisory, registered in England and Wales (Company No. 14550836), 29-31 Moorland Road, Stoke-on-Trent, ST6 1DS. For anything in this policy, contact hello@wrightadvisory.co.uk.

What we collect, and when

The Leak Finder. If you complete the tool and submit your email address to receive your report, we store one record containing:

• your email address;
• the MRR figure you set on the slider, and the band it falls into;
• your six stage scores, the modelled total leakage figure and the verdict tier;
• whether you ticked the optional field-notes checkbox;
• your IP address (used only for rate limiting and abuse prevention);
• the date and time of submission.

If you answer the questions but never submit your email, nothing is stored. The calculation happens in your browser.

The on-page meter. The homepage shows an "enquiry likelihood" meter based on your time on page, scroll depth and interactions. It is computed entirely in your browser, uses no cookies, sends nothing to us, and is forgotten the moment you leave the page.

Email. If you email us, we hold the correspondence for as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry and any engagement that follows.

What we use it for

• Delivering your report: showing it on screen and, once transactional email is active, sending it to the address you gave. Lawful basis: legitimate interest in providing something you explicitly requested.
• Occasional marketing email ("field notes"): only if you ticked the unticked-by-default checkbox. Lawful basis: consent, which you can withdraw at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email or by writing to us.
• Following up on your report: we may contact you about the results and our services. Lawful basis: legitimate interest; every such email lets you opt out.
• Security: IP addresses are used to rate-limit submissions and prevent abuse. Lawful basis: legitimate interest.

We do not sell your data. We do not run third-party advertising or tracking on this site.

Where your data lives

Submissions are stored in a Postgres database hosted by Neon, connected through Vercel, which also hosts this website. When email sending is active it runs through Brevo, whose platform holds your contact details and report attributes for that purpose. These providers act as our processors and may process data outside the UK; where they do, transfers rely on recognised safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or standard contractual clauses.

One more third party is involved when you load any page: the Montserrat typeface is served by Google Fonts, so your browser requests font files from Google's servers, which necessarily involves your IP address reaching Google. Google does not receive anything you type into this site.

How long we keep it

Leak Finder records are kept while they are useful for the purposes above and reviewed periodically. If you ask us to delete your record, we will, promptly and without argument.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, object to our use of it, or export it. You can withdraw consent to marketing at any time. Email hello@wrightadvisory.co.uk and we will respond within a month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, though we would appreciate the chance to sort it out first.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes affecting how we use existing data will be communicated to the email address we hold, where we hold one.
